Delilah Payne Obituary

Delilah Payne, also lovingly known as “Sweetpea” was born June 7, 2011 and peacefully went to sleep while in her Mamma’s arms February 1, 2021. She was part Lab and Shar Pei.

Delilah was the sweetest dog. She loved everyone she met, and everyone immediately loved her too.  One of the many reasons Delilah will be sadly missed by her family is the kisses she loved to give on the cheek!

One of Delilah’s favorite games to play with everyone was to grab sticks, toys, and anything she could find in the barn or garage and start running expecting her family to chase and retrieve them from her.

Delilah absolutely loved the grandkids and was always excited to see them and give them kisses. She was very protective and would often check on them when in their strollers just to make sure they were okay. She enjoyed the snow - taking walks and playing in it, chasing the snowballs, and sticking her nose in the snow, sniffing for whatever she could find.

Delilah was loved so much, and she loved so much in return; she took a big part of our hearts when we had to say good-bye to her.

It is difficult to explain death to little ones. Our 3-year-old grandson asked how God would get Delilah. I told him I did not know. He said, “Mimi, I know, He will come and get her with His ambulance and take her with Him.” He said, “She’s all better now because she is with God.” So, I know she is in no more pain, running fast and free again!!

Survivors include her parents, Phil and Sherry Payne and playmate, Bella.

Delilah will be deeply missed but remembered with much love.
