Tribute to Charlie Brutus Young, aka Sir Charles, Chuck, Chuckles, Healer… Early days to final days of Charlie, who went to doggie heaven January 12, 2024. The irony is Charlie was rescued from hell yet, he was a gift from heaven. He was named “Charlie” from All Dogs Go To Heaven, and yet he was the perfect dog for us and was sent from heaven.
Charlie was 1/2 Heeler and 1/2 Boxer, and for those who knew him, he was a “Healer”. There are many photos of Owen sleeping on Charlie in various ways which they both seemed to love. His job was herding, protecting, and giving us peace. What this dog allowed from Owen and Frank was truly a sign he was an angel, especially given he was never truly healthy (rough beginning… hence Heaven after Hell).
Charlie was the perfect companion, played games with Owen, went hiking and solo camping with me, was crazy smart, and monitored everything in sight. Our house is quiet without our 95-pound brut. It’s like the end of an era in which he served his purpose of helping us sleep at night, and now it’s his turn to rest in peace.
Now it is only Frank, and he certainly is missing his buddy, Charlie.
We miss you Charlie and will always hold you close to our hearts.
